Officials estimate 5,000 people attended the rally to help SC Respond to Genocide on Saturday, October 6 at steps of the SC State House in Columbia, SC
It can help to save tens of thousands of innocent lives!
On July 31, 2007, the UN Security Council unanimously passed Resolution 1769, which authorizes a multinational force of nearly 20,000 soldiers and 4,000 policemen to provide security. It also authorizes protection for aid convoys trying to deliver aid to the refugee camps. Previous such resolutions have been ignored by the government of Sudan.
We are asking the presidential candidates to voice their strong support of UN resolution 1769 and outline what they would do if it were not implemented. If this resolution were implemented, tens of thousands of lives would be saved that will otherwise be lost.
